Thelgap
Thelgap is a music-research-performance group focusing on microtonality, extended durations, hybrids of electronic and acoustic sounds, noise (noise foldings), hypersonics, directional audio, hypermusic, and sensefusions. Through their explorations they aim to redefine the concert format and create concert works that often span 5–25 hours. They work with irrational temperaments (or tuning systems) in different resolutions of non-octave scale environments. Founders and core members of Thelgap are Einar Torfi Einarsson and Guðmundur Steinn Gunnarsson.
Current project revolves around the performance of Fellingar tímans (Temporal Foldings), a 25 hour piece in 5 episodes (see projects).
